Trail Riding in South Africa
| Day 1 | Depart London. |
| Day 2 | Arrive Cape Town. Transfer to your hotel.Afternoon visit of Cape Town. Dinner in the hotel. |
| Day 3 | Transfer to our equestrian centre in the Western Cape.Spend the day getting to know your horse, which will either be a Friesian or Boerperd and using a stock saddle.Overnight at the ranch. |
| Days 4-8 | Five days of trail riding through farmlands, along the coast, on the beaches and in the Swartland hills. You’ll be covering 30 – 40 kms a day with some fast riding involved and you should expect to be in the saddle for 6 hours. You’ll be staying in farm cottages and tents or under open skies!Everything is carried on horseback and in saddlebags. Your last night is back at the ranch. |
| Day 9 | Transfer back to Cape Town and fly to Durban.Transfer to the Drakensberg Mountains and our equestrian centre. Select your Berg pony (similar to Basuto ponies). Overnight at the ranch. |
| Days 10-14 | Head out to the Loteni area to spend five days riding amongst the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains.This is a challenging landscape and skilled horsemanship will be required on some steep and narrow paths.You’ll be staying in cottages and caves.Packhorses will be used to carry supplies.Your last night is back at the ranch. |
